If you’ve been reading along here and following the posters in shop windows around Oak Park, we trust you’re shopping locally. And that’s good. But in the giddiness about your finds, we don’t want you to miss a few must-remember points about the Shop the Village campaign:

  • Hang on to your tickets-the stubs you get for every $25 you spend among the 118 businesses in the rewards program.
  • Every Wednesday, turn to Page 7 in Wednesday Journal to see if the number on your ticket matches any of the numbers on the list of that week’s ticket winners.
  • If you find a match, then keep hanging on to that ticket. Keep track of the ticket ’til you can get it to the library at the designated time and hand it over for the gift certificate or goods you won. See Page 7 for details.

Every winner of a weekly drawing will get goods or a gift certificate valued at $25 or more from a participating business. At the end of the campaign, one winner will get a prize of more than $4,000, which will include goods and gift certificates from every one of the participating businesses.
