The OPRF doubles team of Erinn McKune and Hannah Press went 3-2 at the IHSA State Tennis Tournament last week.

McKune and Press defeated Allison Hacker and Natasha Cox of Westfield 6-0, 6-0 in the first round. The duo lost to West Suburban (Silver) Conference rivals Hinsdale Central 6-1, 6-1 in the second round.

McKune and Press made a comeback in the consolation bracket, winning two matches before falling to Batavia 6-1, 6-1 on Friday.

Friars get through first round

Fenwick’s Rachel Canfora and Allison Seyfarth made it out of the first round of the IHSA State Tennis Tournament last week. The doubles team defeated Metamora’s Marissa Ausman and Meagan Nguyen 7-5, 6-2.

Canfora and Seyfarth lost in the second round to St. Charles East 6-2, 6-1.

Season ends for soccer

The Fenwick soccer team fell to Lyons Township 3-0 last week in the Hinsdale South Regional title game.

Kyle Magnesen scored two goals for the Lions and assisted on another.

In the first round of the playoff, the Friars blanked Hinsdale South 2-0. Killian Frailey scored both goals with assists by Mark Finan and Eric Jensen. Pat McMahon earned the shutout for the Friars.
