Oak Park police say they are investigating a suspect in four recent armed robberies of people in and around their garages. Cmdr. Clemet Harbour said his officers feel they’re making “good progress” in the case.

“Last week was a pretty good week,” he said. “There were no robberies until Sunday night [Oct. 5].”

That night three Chicago boys, age 15-16, were arrested after they were identified as the trio who attempted to rob an Oak Park man with an old but operational handgun around 10 p.m. on the first block of Lake St.

Two of the boys were charged with armed robbery and unlawful use of a weapon and turned over to county juvenile authorities. The third was charged with disorderly conduct and released to a guardian.
