Page 13 of Wednesday Journal, July 20: “Oak Park General Fund at -$1,368,000.” Overall, the village is expecting to end 2008 with a deficit of $200,000 and a general fund deficit of $3.06 million. Page 22 of the same issue: “Speed tables along East Ave.“-$8,000 to $10,000 each? On a stretch of road three blocks long with STOP signs on every corner? Perhaps these two articles should have been on the same page, so the village could have a better idea what to cut in the budget for next year.
