Mary Ziebell, 76, Oak Park area Realtor

Mary E. Ziebell (nee Callahan), 76, died on July 16, 2008 after a long bout with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Mrs. Ziebell was born in
Chicago on June 27, 1932 and raised in Oak Park. She graduated from Rosary College in River Forest in 1954. Following graduation, she married Edwin J. Ziebell, former police chief of Forest Park. A resident of Forest Park for over 54 years, she was a longtime Realtor, a member of the Oak Park Board of Realtors, and the former chairman of the Forest Park Plan Commission.

Mary Ziebell is survived by her children, Herman Daniel Ziebell, Mary Catherine (Phillip) Schuster, and Gerald Edwin Ziebell; and her grandchildren, Sarah Grace Schuster, Kristina Maja, and Nicholas John Zeibell. She was preceded in death by her husband Edwin John Ziebell.

Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in
River Forest, followed by interment at Glen Oak Cemetery.

Helen Craig, 95, Oak Park native, real estate secretary

Helen M. Craig, 95, died on
July 6, 2008 at the Crystal Pines Nursing Home in Crystal Lake.

Born on
June 23, 1913 in Oak Park to Robert and Mary Foster Craig, she worked as a secretary in real estate for many years and was a member of Ascension Catholic Church.

Ms. Craig was the sister of Francis Bell and the aunt of Jim (Amy) Hughes and Jean (Larry) Rudolph.

Memorial services were held July 16 at All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to an organization of the donor’s choice. Marengo-Community Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Naomi ‘Hank’ Hamilton, 83, Oil company owner

Naomi Florence “Hank”
Hamilton, 83, died on July 13, 2008 in Oak Park. Born on Sept. 25, 1924 to the late John Henry and Nellie Lawson Henry in New Carlisle, Ohio, she attended Olive Branch Elementary and Olive Branch High School, graduating in 1942. She also attended Eastern Kentucky University.

From 1948 until her retirement in 1978, she and her late husband Howard Hamilton, Sr., owned and operated the Hamilton Oil Company in
Reynoldsburg, Ohio. A resident of Oak Park and River Forest since 1996, she enjoyed sewing, crafts, water exercise, golf and music. In addition to being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she was a loyal friend to her children’s friends and to her neighbors.

Hamilton is survived by her son, Howard (Sara) Hamilton Jr; her grandson, Nathan Hamilton; and her brother, Walter Nichols Henry.

Visitation was held at Drechsler, Brown & Williams Funeral Home on July 15. Interment was private. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Infant Welfare Society of Oak Park and

Catherine ‘Kay’ Hannon, 88, Parishioner and secretary

Catherine M. “Kay” Hannon (nee Ryan), 88, died on
July 19, 2008. She had resided on

North Grove Avenue
for 29 years.

A retired secretary in the medical supplies industry, she was very active and a longtime parishioner of St. Edmund Parish

Kay Hannon is survived by her sisters, Josephine Navarro, and Mary and Margaret Ryan; her nieces, Kitty (Robert) Lee and Mary Navarro; and her nephews, Fosty (Eileen) and John Navarro.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 25, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Conboy-Westchester Funeral Home, 10501 W. Cermak Rd. Funeral services will be held July 26 at 9:15 a.m. at St. Edmund Church with Mass at 10 a.m., followed by interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Arrangements were made by P.M. Smith & Sons Funeral Home.

Dorothy M. Lane
(nee Nauman), 87, of Forest Park died on July 19, 2008. A resident of Oak Park for over 70 years, she was a member of St. Edmund Church.

She was the mother of James (Patricia) Lane, Michael (Helen) Lane and Laurie (Ben) Sadow; the grandmother of nine; and great-grandmother of eight.
