I find it interesting that while both white and non-white students have similar perceptions on the treatment of the non-white students, the same is not true about the perception of the treatment afforded white students [D200 survey: White students have advantage, News, Nov. 28]. Why is it that both sides can come to the same evaluation of the treatment of minorities yet have such a different sense of whether white children have an extra advantage? Perhaps we need to look at the roots of our children’s perceptions.
