The lawsuit is long overdue! The Zoning Board of Appeals does not reflect “those things that are best” for the citizens of Oak Park, but rather what’s best for the “special interests” lobby. The value of a special use permit is immeasurable, in that the citizens will have a review and revocation process for a faulty ZBA decision.

Would that a special use permit was awarded to the First United Methodist Church/Alcuin Montessori Private School 10 years ago. The citizens would not be eternally tethered to a faulty Zoning Board of Appeals decision and variance.
