The “lawsuit” that was filed was not a new lawsuit [Lawsuit filed in OPRF stadium lights saga, News, Nov. 14]. It was an appeal of the Zoning Board of Appeal’s denial of the residents’ challenge to the Zoning Administrator’s interpretation of the zoning ordinance. The only reason the complaint was filed [is] because under the applicable Illinois statutes, it was the only way for the concerned residents to preserve their legal right to challenge the interpretation of the zoning ordinance.
