As you may know, Pleasant Home has been selected, along with 24 other worthy sites in the Chicago area, to compete for a Partners in Preservation grant. This $5 million preservation grant program is co-sponsored by American Express and the National Trust for Historic Preservation. We are honored by the opportunity to compete for a $100,000 grant to repair and repaint the historic 1902 iron fence that surrounds the Pleasant Home site. It is the most visible public aspect of the property. But we earnestly need your support to make this grant a reality. The selection of awardees will be based in large part on their public support as expressed through online voting. Please log onto www.partnersinpreservation.com to register to vote and vote for one of our community’s greatest public treasures, Pleasant Home, every day from now through Oct. 10.
