I wanted to commend Wednesday Journal for publishing a green/environmental edition of the newspaper [July 25]. Even though many of our political leaders continue “business” as usual, it is important for citizens to know what they can do to improve the climate and protect mother earth for future generations. The sections about bicycling, car-sharing, extending the Blue Line and green building materials were very helpful.
The village board should try working with other neighboring villages to push for extending the Blue Line to Woodfield (Schaumburg), creating a circular connection. I also plan to use Mr. Trainor’s editorial, A leap of eco-faith: Drink tap water in my classroom.
I would like to suggest that Wednesday Journal consider including a green section in each edition of the paper. Hopefully this will help make Oak Park a greener village.
