The Senior Citizens’ Center and the Oak Park Arms collaborated to present the First Annual Indoor Arts And Crafts Fair on the weekend of August 10-12. It was an effort to provide artists from the greater Chicago area a way to display local and other art fair-goers a way to shop in air-conditioned comfort. It is hoped that the event will be repeated next year. Vendors displayed jewelry, paintings, photography, ceramics, and weavings (including one with work done by the Mayan Indians of Guatemala).
