Now that the Oak Park Public Library has fully settled into its new and refurbished buildings, we’re ready to broaden our agenda and expand the vision and role of the library in this great village. Its strategic planning process has been underway for months and has included extensive staff input, two community forums and a mini-survey at A Day in Our Village. The next step aims at gathering the opinions of Oak Park’s entire population.

Library users and non-users alike are invited to share their thoughts on a future vision for the library and how it can best serve the needs of our diverse community. The Oak Park Public Library survey will arrive inside the July 2007 issue of the Village of Oak Park FYI newsletter. Completed paper surveys can be dropped in the mail (please add a stamp) or placed in the survey box at any of the library’s three lobby locations.

Or a slightly more in-depth version of the survey is available on the library’s website at www.oppl.org/about/surveys.htm. We hope residents will complete one version or another of this village-wide survey.
