A benefit, complete with silent auction featuring a worm bin for the garden, a homemade birdhouse, seed balls and other child-related art and treasures helped raise approximately $11,000 for The Children’s School of Oak Park. Raised during a benefit at Molly Malone’s in Forest Park on Friday, May 18, the money will provide tuition scholarships and support the school’s expanding arts program.

Nearly 200 people attended the event. “We are delighted with community support for our growing school,” said school founder and principal Daniel Ryan. “It’s important to have a progressive education option available in the western suburbs, and we could not be more pleased with the interest in the school.”

More than 60 students are already enrolled in grades K-4 for next year’s school year.
