Seana Stillson and Alex Morocco will someday play softball at the collegiate level, if the OPRF teammates aren’t already.

Stillson, a junior who has verbally committed to Loyola University, snagged her 11th victory and her fourth shutout on the season by holding Downers Grove North to just three hits as the Huskies edged their West Suburban (Silver) Conference foe 1-0 in 10 innings on Monday.

Mara Blesoff’s game-winning RBI in the bottom of the 10th pushed OPRF’s conference mark to 8-1.

Stillson (11-4), who fanned 12 batters on Monday, has put together a scoreless string of 35 innings. The junior also held Lockport to just three hits in a 4-0 victory in the opener of a non-conference doubleheader on Saturday.

The DePaul-bound Morocco went 6-for-7 in the two-game series, including 4-for-4 during a 9-3 nightcap victory.

In the opener, the Huskies (22-4 overall) scored two in the first inning, and then Morocco closed the door with a sacrifice fly in the fourth. In Game 2, the speedy Morocco crossed home plate three times to push her total runs on the season to 31.

Along with Morocco, who is batting .564 on the season, Blesoff, Clare O’Connor and Kim Grimes also put on quite a batter’s show in Game 2. Blesoff finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a double. O’Connor went 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI. Grimes blasted in two runs on a single.

Sara Hutchinson pushed her undefeated record to 9-0 by holding Lockport to just two earned runs on four hits in seven innings. The junior yielded no walks and fanned six.

On Friday, the Huskies blanked Glenbard West 1-0 behind Lauren Gonzalez’s game-winning RBI. Gonzalez was also instrumental in helping OPRF crush York 6-0 on May 3rd. The slugger drove in three runs in the win.

The Huskies, who are the No. 1 seed in the Lyons Sectional, host York on Friday (4:30 p.m.), before traveling to New Trier for a doubleheader against Downers Grove South (Noon) and the host (2 p.m.). They’ll open the playoffs at home against either Foreman or Prosser on May 22nd (4 p.m.).
