As co-sponsor of the 2007 Earth Day Celebration at Trailside/Thatcher Woods on Earth Day, Sunday, April 22, the Thatcher Woods Savanna Restoration Project would like to thank the entire staff of Trailside Museum for organizing a great multi-faceted event. There was a large turnout of kids and adults who enjoyed the many activities such as bird and wildflower walks, historic displays at Trailside Museum and other local landmarks presented by the Historical Society of Oak Park & River Forest, volunteer opportunities, clean-up, restoration burn demonstrations, fishing clinics, kids’ crafts and games, the Hody Coyote Puppet Show and much more. Thanks also to the many people who donated bikes to the Working Bikes Cooperative who will repair and distribute them to people in need of transportation in this country and abroad.
