As long as we’re “re-streeting” Marion Street, why don’t we “re-sidewalk” Marion Street and Lake Street between Forest and Harlem? If we had hordes of shoppers, I could see the need for the wide sidewalks and mini-plazas, but this just doesn’t happen! Wouldn’t it be nice to regain some on-street parking right in front of the shops … um, kind of like they do on Madison Street in Forest Park. Remember the thrill of finding an open parking spot? And since we’re going to have to pay more per hour to park anywhere, anyway, think of the sound of all those quarters dropping into the added parking meters!
