Thank you, Wednesday Journal. See page 12, March 21. Reporter Drew Carter discusses funding of the YMCA feasibility study: what to do with their SRO building and other properties when the Y moves to Forest Park. Trustee Marsey had brought the request for the $15,000 cost of the study to the village board for immediate total funding.

It was Trustee Robert Milstein, though, who suggested shared financial responsibility for the study.

Current funding: YMCA, $3000; Oak Park Township and Residence Corp., $1,000 each; grant money from Catholic Charities, $4,000. Thus so far, of the $15,000, $6,000 remains–and Oak Park will ask River Forest and Forest Park to chip in on the $6,000.

Thank you, Robert Milstein, not only for saving money for the village, although the amounts are small. More important is initiating involvement by various entities in a community situation. Go Milstein!
