The Oak Park Animal Control Division works hard to promote the humane care and treatment of all animals. Oak Park celebrates the human-animal bond, provides education to animal owners, and we fight animal cruelty and abuse in all of its forms.

A vast majority of the animals we impound are not seized from owners but captured stray animals, some having identification and owners and others having no identifiable owners. All unclaimed stray animals are monitored for behavior and are given a second chance at life through our private and shelter adoption program where a vast majority of our animals are either privately or shelter-adopted. Persons looking to adopt a loving pet should contact Oak Park Animal Control at 708/358-5679/80, visit www.oak-park.us, or you can see our available dogs most weeks in Wednesday Journal’s “Pet of the Week” feature in LifeLines.
