Eight players on the OPRF girls basketball team scored to help the Huskies to their second straight West Suburban (Silver) Conference victory on Saturday.

With a well-balanced scoring attack, the Huskies were able to edge Proviso West 66-62 in Hillside. Four players scored in double figures. Caley Hague led OPRF with 16 points, while Nneka Nwani finished with 13, Michelle Carter 12 and Abby Prescott 11.

“We’re getting a lot of contributions from a lot of different people and that’s what we hoped for,” said OPRF head coach Bob Biggins of his 7-1 overall team (2-0 in the WSC). “I’m pretty happy with the way things are going as far as balance and depth.”

The Huskies opened up WSC play on Nov. 28 with a 43-36 victory over Lyons Township. Tina Frank led OPRF with 10 points, while Kendal Dirkin hauled down nine rebounds.

OPRF took on Hinsdale Central last night (after deadline), before hosting Glenbard West on Friday (6 p.m.).

OPRF boys postponed
