Baker and Brady should be applauded for making a decision instead of lingering on in Baker’s case or allowing inertia to propel her into a second term in Brady’s case.

Oak Park will be better served by trustees who can commit the necessary time and energy to their terms.

However, one does wonder why the meetings and study sessions are so time-consuming. With competent staff support and leadership, meeting length can easily be controlled, regardless of the agenda. Is the problem inadequate staff support or inadequate trustees?
