I’m encouraged to know there are other Catholics like me who are disgusted by the policies dictated to us by clueless leaders. If there is to be any significant change, it is my opinion that it will have to come from within. I’m not sure how many rebellions I have left in me, but blowing up the infrastructure of the Catholic Church might be one I’m willing to take on.

I’m talking about a sea change in thinking, not about destroying property. I’m talking about changing everything, peacefully, the way Jesus tried to do. He got crucified for his peaceful efforts, and I’m not sure I want to be out there that far, but maybe if we just talk honestly with each other, we can effect some positive change.

The first step is to acknowledge that the system as we know it is in the dumpster. If there is any argument to that, go talk to someone else.

The Catholic Church is not in the business of saving souls. McDonald’s is not in the business of selling cheeseburgers. They’re both in the real estate and finance business. Deny it all you want, but look at the reality staring you in the face every single day.

God is a tool used to buy and sell real estate by the conglomerate known as the Catholic Church. Jesus is a pawn and a postcard used to advance all kinds of horrible things.

It’s easy to hate Osama bin Laden; it’s easy to hate Islamofascists. If I were the trigger man, they’d all be dead.

But how can we, as Catholics, oppose anyone else’s idolatry when we’re the number one perpetrators? Isn’t there something in the Bible about setting your own house in order first?

I’m getting older, so fairy tale books like the Bible, Torah and Koran, while read many times, hold no interest for me. The contradictions and hypocrisy in those pages give every moron with a mission from his “Invisible Man in the Sky” license to harm you and me.

I think we should ignore the morons most of the time, and stop them when they become violent morons.

It is very disturbing to me that there are a bunch of violent, clueless morons running the White House.

It’s equally disturbing to me that there are so many brain-dead morons who support horrible policy. I’m not exaggerating when I say that I have met and talked to people who truly believe that God is in a subordinate position to George W. Bush!

I desperately wish I was making this up.

If we are to win the right for our children to grow up in a free world where they can think for themselves, where neither religion nor ideology nor hate invades their minds, we have to change what goes on in the churches, political offices, and halls of power.

It starts at the kitchen table.
