An argument between two 18-year-old men ended with both being treated for knife wounds last Thursday night.

James Minaghan, 18, of Oak Park, was charged with aggravated battery following the incident, which reportedly began when an Elmhurst man showed up at his home on the 200 block of South Kenilworth Avenue to talk with him regarding a young woman. An argument ensued, and at some point Minaghan allegedly retrieved a household knife.

Police had responded to reports of a woman screaming-one resident reported hearing “a blood-curdling scream.” Responding officers found the Elmhurst man bleeding, wounded from non-life-threatening knife wounds to his arm and leg. Minaghan was located soon after two blocks from the scene.

The man was taken to the hospital where he was treated and released. Minaghan, who reportedly also cut himself, was also treated at the hospital and released.
