The Oak Park-River Forest Strikers Club has openings for a few players at some age levels, both boys and girls. Children who enjoy soccer are invited to tryout for Strikers, a competitive travel soccer club, which is fielding a record 28 teams this year.
A supplemental tryout to fill these openings will be held Thursday, July 13, from 9-10:30 a.m. at Washington Commons Park, Washington Boulevard and Forest Avenue in River Forest. The tryout is free; children from all towns and schools are welcome.
Strikers has 2-3 openings per team for the following age groups:
Girls U8 through U11 (born between August 1995 and July 1999); Girls U14 (born August 1992-July 1993); Boys U10 (born August 1996-July 1997). Several other boys and girls teams have room for one additional player.

Youth soccer camp
The inaugural John Trask Total Soccer UIC Soccer Camp still has spots available for kids 4-18. The sessions run through July.
The camp is directed by UIC head men’s soccer coach John Trask, who has over 20 years of soccer camp experience and has tutored some of the biggest names in the game, including U.S. National Team stars Landon Donovan, Eddie Johnson and many more.

Fenwick is hosting swim lessons. Classes are 45 minutes and are available at 9:30 a.m., 10:15 a.m., 11 a.m., 12:15 p.m. and 1 p.m. Register at the Fenwick business office on the Scoville side of the school. Cost is $65.
