A sunny April afternoon at Oak Park Country Club was the perfect setting for West Suburban Medical Center’s Board of Trustees’ annual luncheon honoring volunteers.

Once again, Winnie Bixby, capable manager of volunteer services and gift shop, detailed the successes of those men and women who have devoted thousands of hours in service to the Medical Center.

Auxiliary President Cille Bucolo gave a history of activities and contributions of the group and proudly announced that $9,117,000 had been raised since 1956. She presented a check for $200,000 to meet the current Auxiliary pledge for a new GI Procedure Room in the Department of Gastroenterology. Joan Ormsby, chief operating officer, accepted the check for CEO Jay Kreuzer.

Something new and exciting is being planned for the Auxiliary’s next fundraiser, Celebration 2006, to be held at the House of Blues. The proceeds will contribute additional pledges to West Suburban Medical Center.
