Two young men and a young woman were robbed at gunpoint by two men in their late teens near Keystone Avenue and Madison Street shortly after midnight June 20.
The victims, who were headed to Maywood, had split up along Madison, with one man crossing over in River Forest. After asking him for a cigarette, one of the robbers pulled a handgun and robbed him. They then ran across Madison into Forest Park and robbed the other man, during which time the woman ran into the middle of Madison. The two assailants then robbed her of her purse and fled on foot.
Both River Forest and Forest Park police are conducting investigations.
“We got pretty good descriptions of the suspects,” said River Forest Deputy Chief Kendra Sullivan. The two are described as 17 or 18 years old, approximately 5-foot-seven and weighing between 140 and 150 pounds.
Carl M. Selvy, 17, of the 5500 block of West Monroe and two juveniles were stopped by police the evening of June 22 in the 200 block of Iowa Street while allegedly in possession of bikes belonging to two Oak Park juveniles who had had them stolen.
? Two boys in their early teens grabbed an Oak Park juvenile by the shirt and threw the child off a bike in the 1200 block of North East Avenue the evening of June 23. They then rode off eastbound on the $300 bike.
? A male Oak Park juvenile was pushed off his bike in the 200 block of Wesley by a teen male the afternoon of June 22.
Andre S. Dahmani, 19, of the 1500 block of Forest Avenue in River Forest was arrested in the 1000 block of Lake Street around midnight June 22 after allegedly punching a River Forest juvenile in the face. A name check revealed that Dahmani also had an active warrant in North Riverside for retail theft.
? Richard A. Edwards, of the 1100 block of North Taylor Avenue, allegedly punched a woman in the face several times during an argument the night of June 23.
? Police responding to a 911 hang-up the afternoon of June 22 arrested James K. Bernard after a woman alleged that he had battered her during an argument.
A 2002 Honda motorcycle valued at $6,300 was stolen sometime during the day June 24 in the 400 block of South Boulevard.
? Three teens entered a Good Humor Ice Cream truck in the 500 block of Lake Street through an unlocked passenger side window the night of June 22. They stole $900 in cash.
? Around 1 a.m. on June 21 a resident of the 200 block of South Maple Avenue witnessed a man in his 20s with a shaved head and thin build force his way through his rear door. The would-be burglar fled when confronted by the resident.
? Someone ripped off a screen and entered an apartment in the 400 block of North Taylor Avenue between June 23 and June 25. The residence was ransacked, but nothing taken.
? A lawnmower valued at $400 was stolen from an unlocked garage in the 300 block of Gale Street in River Forest overnight June 19.
? A car parked in the 300 block of Franklin Street overnight June 20 had personal computer equipment worth at least $900 stolen from it.
? An in-dash radio and a radar detector valued in total at $635 were stolen from an unlocked Toyota 4Runner overnight June 22 in the 700 block of South Cuyler Avenue.
? Someone stole a satellite radio and a crystal pendant from an unlocked 1999 Mercedes Roadster parked in a parking garage in the 100 block of North Kenilworth around 1 a.m. June 22.
? Someone entered a Jeep Cherokee in the 200 block of Washington Boulevard the evening of June 21 via an unlocked door and stole two wallets containing IDs, credit cards and $30 cash, as well as a PDA.
Criminal trespass, criminal damage
James L. Thompson, 31, of the 400 block of South Austin Boulevard was arrested the morning of June 25 after being identified as the person who allegedly climbed over a broken overhead garage door in the 300 block of North Ridgeland, and who also reportedly broke a window in the garage.
Robyn McDonald, 19, of North Brook, was stopped and questioned as a suspicious person near the corner of Taylor Avenue and Harrison Street the night of June 24. McDonald allegedly was found in possession of numerous individual bags of heroin, as well as a quantity of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
?Santiago Mora, 24, of Chicago allegedly exhibited bloodshot eyes after being stopped in the 1600 block of North Oak Park for a reported traffic violation the evening of June 24. He reportedly failed a field sobriety test.
? Following a traffic crash in the 800 block of South Ridgeland Avenue the afternoon of June 19, investigating police say Donald Corbert, 42, of the 900 block of South Oak Park Avenue failed a field sobriety test.
? Darrien L. Ollison, 19, and Jarrett J. Pitts, 18, both of Chicago, were stopped near Division Street and Harvey Avenue the evening of June 24 while allegedly riding together on a bike that an officer recognized as stolen.
? A woman shopping in Whole Foods Market, 7225 Lake St., the afternoon of June 20 was bumped by one woman while a second woman reached into her purse and lifted her wallet. When the woman yelled at her, the thief dropped the wallet and both she and her partner fled the store.
? Someone cut the chain link fence behind Route Auto Sales, 6104 West Roosevelt Road, overnight June 21. Four Cadillac tires, rims and chrome wheel covers valued in total at $2,700 were stolen.
? Overnight on June 21 someone removed two refrigerators, five mattresses and a vacuum cleaner from an apartment complex in the 300 block of Wisconsin.
? These items were obtained from police reports filed by the Oak Park and River Forest Police departments from June 18 to June 25. Not all incidents that occurred are listed. Anyone named in reports has only been charged with a crime and cases have not yet been adjudicated.
