The VMA (Village Manager Association) is pleased to announce the official “unveiling” of our new website at

This new site replaces any other web presence of the past, and we would invite and encourage readers to take a look at the site to learn more about the VMA?#34;its past, present and future.

As part of our ongoing effort to reach a wider constituency in Oak Park, we are attempting to use a number of communications tools. We believe the website will prove informative and effective in conveying the message of the VMA, especially our core principles of governance:

 Accountable and responsive government

 Ongoing and inclusive diversity

 Balanced and sensitive economic growth

Visitors to the site will view up-to-date information on public statements of the VMA, actions and concerns of VMA elected officials, times and places of VMA forums and other special events, as well as contact information for the board and membership sign-up options.

We welcome feedback on the “user friendliness” of the site as well as input on content.

The website is a work in progress, and we will be continually adding and correcting content as need be.

We hope this tool will further accessibility to the VMA as well as facilitate a broader understanding of our role in the village.

Bob Kane
President, VMA
