Speed skater and Olympic gold medalist Shani Davis is scheduled to scoop for charity Tuesday as part of Ben & Jerry’s Free Cone Day.
All who attend will get a free ice cream cone and meet Davis, who is expected to be there after 5 p.m tomorrow. The store will accept donations to benefit Wonder Works Children’s Museum of Oak Park.
Free scoops will include this year’s new flavors, including: Turtle Soup, Chocolate Peanut Butter Swirl, American Pie, Strawberry Cheesecake, Bananas on the Rum, Baklava, Lemonade Sorbet and Jamaican Me Crazy.
Ben & Jerry’s is located at 1025 Lake St.
Shani Davis is the world record holder in the 1000m race, and was the first African-American to make the U.S. Olympic speed skating team this year in Torino, Italy. There he won the gold in the 1000m and silver in the 1500m.
