The Village of Oak Park has released a Request for Proposals from executive search firms to help it find its next village manager. Responses are due back Dec. 16, and a contract is scheduled to be signed with a firm a month later.
Last week Frank Spataro, the village human resources director, told the village board he would e-mail the RFP to about 30 firms he knows of, conduct outreach to attract women and minority candidates to the manager position, and use print and Internet postings to get the word out.
“We want to get this out to the widest group as possible,” Spataro said.
Village Manager Carl Swenson announced last month he would leave Oak Park next spring for a post in Arizona.
