Friends and supporters of West Suburban PADS who attended the progressive dinner fundraiser on Monday evening, Sept. 12, were treated to a luscious dinner and a fun evening in the heart of Oak Park.

Restaurants in The Avenue shopping area freely donated their specialties and staff time to provide a lovely evening.

The Pasta Shoppe, a first-time participant in the fundraiser, provided a wonderful assortment of appetizers and salad. Caf Winberie, offering their hospitality for the third year in a row, served delicious entrees of chicken or salmon.

Erik’s Deli, also a first-time participant, served an assortment of desserts on the patio of the Oak Park Public Library.

On behalf of PADS staff, board members, and guests, I want to thank everyone who participated either by donating the food and service, buying tickets to attend, or making a financial donation.

All in all, it was a great evening of good food and fellowship, just in time to herald the opening of the 2005-2006 PADS emergency shelter season on Saturday, Sept. 17.
