Ten Thousand Villages in Oak Park is a nonprofit fair trade retailer of handcrafted home decor, personal accessories, and gift items from more than 130 artisan groups in 38 countries. We are part of a network of over 156 retail outlets throughout the United States selling Ten Thousand Villages products.

Ten Thousand Villages in Oak Park opened in September 2007. The store is governed by a local Board of Directors and staffed primarily by volunteers.

Volunteer Opportunities: There are many ways to get involved at Ten Thousand Villages. Volunteers can work on the sales floor, at the cash register, in the stock room, with Board committees and on special projects.

Community Shopping Nights: Ten Thousand Villages partners with churches, schools and other nonprofits to host Community Shopping Nights. Ten Thousand Villages will donate 15 percent of that evening's net sales to your organization.

Off-Site Sales: Ten Thousand Villages will come to your organization or church, bringing fair trade shopping to your members. One or two day sales are available, and they are a great way for your group to support artisans around the world.

This shop is fantastic. The volunteers are well-informed and friendly. A great selection of unique items can be found, and the merchandise is really well-priced. Fantastic place for gifts. Love their logo: Purchase with Purpose.
