On Mondays here at the Shopping Blog we bring you all things green and eco-friendly.
We each have the power to make mindful choices with our dollars. With every conscious choice we make at the register we possess the ability to reduce our carbon footprint.
Our collective shift towards buying sustainable products can lead to a healthier planet and healthier communities around the world.
Sanem’s in Oak Park brings us a visually stunning and organic clothing line: Amour Vert. Amour Vert is an eco-conscious fashion line based in the California Bay Area.
Amour Vert uses sustainable fabrics like organic cotton, hemp, tencel and peace silk with vegetable and low-impact dyes. All apparel items are solely produced in the United States.
Parisian in name and aesthetic, Amour Vert translates to “Green Love.” The Parisian founders inspire Amour Vert’s chic and affordable urban apparel with designs originally conceived of in Paris. Tres chic!
From our friends at Amour Vert:
Amour Vert’s mission is to provide chic, sustainable, and high quality clothing to stylish, eco-conscious women at an affordable price. Amour Vert’s collections prove that it is possible to be both fashionable and environmentally responsible.
We design and produce all of our collections with the philosophy that the modern woman should not have to sacrifice style for sustainability, to look and feel her best.
With a love for high fashion and a growing concern for the environment, Amour Vert’s founder, Parisian native Linda Balti, decided to fuse her passions and enter the young field of chic eco-fashion. Beginning the design process in a Paris studio, Linda relocated to the Bay Area where she collaborated with current Stanford MBA student and entrepreneur Christoph Frehsee. A few months later, Amour Vert was born.
Amour Vert’s styles range from the casual and fun to the sophisticated and elegant. But what unites them all is their simultaneous representation of beautiful, high quality, and sustainable clothing.
I’m looking forward to seeing what’s next from these fabulous environmentally conscious designers. Stop back next Monday for another green find from local, independently owned shops here in town!
