Every day is a perfect day to support local merchants - whether that's your favorite farmers' market or a unique little boutique!
Display your love of all things local with today’s earth-friendly find: a comfort-conscious, unisex tee, perfect for keeping cool on these hot summer days.
Careful Peach Boutique in Oak Park brings us this week’s green find: eco-friendly t-shirts made of 100% organic cotton and baby blankets made of 75% post-consumer recycled cotton, with 25% acrylic (see photo gallery). And they're all made in the USA!
The t-shirts are 100% organic cotton, complete with "farm" themes that are great for farmers' market loving Oak Parkers.
The Peach is also selling them at the Wednesday evening Farmer's Market in DTOP, and with the help of the Market’s Susan Hines, they'll be donating 20% of the proceeds of each shirt sale to a non-profit of the Market's choosing - a different charity every week.
Show off your love of the farm with a unique t-shirt that reads, "I'd rather be on my farm than emperor of the world." - a quote attributed to George Washington.
Once you’re comfy, cozy in your oversized tee, and you’ve collected some healthy veggies from the farmer’s market to munch on while at Oak Park’s Festival Theater or the lush landscape of Ravinia, don’t forget the candles!
Kobo Candles are another lovely green find at the Peach. Their wonderfully distinct scents are both invigorating and soothing. Anisette Orange, Gardenia Royale, Moon Wisteria, Opopomax Amber, Cultured Sake are just some of the memorable fragrances.
Made of domestically grown sustainable soybeans (these paraffin-free candles won’t pollute your home or the environment), beautifully packaged in recycled wrap, and crafted in factories powered by wind energy, these candles are the Usain Bolt of flambeaus.

Stop back next Monday for another green find from a local, indie retailer. Until then, I’ll see you around town and in the shops!
