Today’s Fabulous Find takes us on a sartorial stroll down memory lane and then straight to Oak Park Avenue to Sanem's for a little style indulgence.

There was Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel’s simple, black crepe de chine dress presented in American Vogue in 1926. There was Hubert De Givenchy’s iconic black dress as worn by Audrey Hepburn in the film Breakfast at Tiffany’s in 1961.

Today, there are Victoria Beckham’s meticulously crafted and self-controlled ebony designs. There are also the plucky, breezy creations from an up-and-coming Miami designer, Julian Chang, that you can find right here in town.

The little black dress is considered essential to a complete wardrobe by many women. The forever fashionable frock is a simple and accessible charcoal cocktail dress; it is intended to be an understated, classic, and comfortable style choice.

Vogue predicted that the LBD would become “a sort of uniform for all women of taste.” It is indeed a timeless, versatile, and affordable wardrobe staple.

You'll find a lovely minimalist design at Sanem’s Boutique in Oak Park (134 N. Oak Park Avenue). American designer, Julian Chang creates a season-less piece for spring and summer: the perfect cut, in a perfect inky hue.

A simple, elegant black dress, the free-flowing design features a flattering scoop neck and asymmetrical hemline in matte jersey. This is one of my favorite textiles: it’s a lightweight, wrinkle-free fabric that is easy to pack and perfect for traveling.

Sanem, the effervescent and wide-eyed proprietress, will make any apparel piece multitask for you. The number of options she presents in her breathy and buoyant manner are dizzying.

This LBD can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. Wear it to the beach with your favorite gladiator sandals or cinch it at the waist and add a sexy strappy heel for a nighttime look.

It can be worn with a jacket and pumps for daytime business wear or with more ornate jewelry and accessories for evening.

Come fall, don’t think this piece stops working for you: it can be easily incorporated into the chilly-weather months with leggings, a cardi, and warm-weather layering pieces.

If you're a gal who loves prints, texture, or color, see photo gallery for more inspired options from Sanem's. For price and store hours, visit www.sanems.com.

I'd love to hear how you wear your little black dress! I imagine a splash of color via a pair of brightly-hued shoes or a fun pair of oversized earrings for a bit of surprise.

Stop back next week for another Fabulous Friday Find or for more Style Inspiration from friends and neighbors. Until then, I’ll see you around town and in the shops!
