The West Suburban Mom's of Multiples Resale is this Saturday
The West Suburban Mom's of Mutiples has their semi annual resale this weekend at the Oak Park Arms. On Saturday from 9am-12:30 you can find lots of children's item's to choose from. Admission is $1 unless you bring a pair of new or gently worn shoes to donate to Soles4Souls. They start handing out admission numbers at 8am. And if you are a risk taker, they have a half price sale that starts at 11:45.
I myself have just two children - 4 years apart. I can attest to the struggles of motherhood. I confess though, I am one of those moms that looks at parents with triplets or twins and wonders how they manage. I think part of that management comes with support from just this organization. The WSMOMS can be found at wsmoms.org on the web. It's not just an organization for moms of course. All parents who have had multiple children in a single pregnancy are welcome to join this group for support. WSMOM's has a mentor program, an on-line forum for question, preemie closet and a new mom's meal delivery program. So if you just need some simple advice for the best double or triple stroller or if you need further support this is a great organization to be a part of.
One thing that impresses me most about this group is it's unstated mission to give to other organizations in need. They don't just collect Shoes4soles, each resale results in a significant donation to a local charity that helps parents. Those folks are also fairly involved with Parenthesis too. This year, after the West Suburban MOM's packs up their clothing racks, those racks are going right over to Parenthesis on loan for the Parenthesis resale next week. Parenthesis will also be using the West Suburban MOM's tagging machines for the Parenthesis tagging service. That's just fantastic teamwork.
That same kind of teamwork is in place at the Oak Park Arms. Rebecca Johnson, current WSMOM's president says quite simply that all of their efforts that result from the resales wouldn't be possible without the support of the Oak Park Arms. Those clothing racks stay in storage at the Oak Park Arm's, for example, and the Oak Park Arms uses them throughout the year for big events. It's a win win.
As for me, I know what is on my to do list over the next couple of weekends. I've admitted I'm on the hunt for size 4 shorts. And tomorrow I might just get lucky at the WSMOM's resale and find a pair, or two or three.
