I have had a lot of fun looking at all the new artisan spirits at Marion Street Cheese Market, many of which are locally distilled. I'm not a connoisseur of fine wines or beer or spirits. I can't tell you that one drink is more crisp than another.
Luckily for me, I can just ask Charlie. Charlie at MSCM knows all. He has good recommendations too. Not just about the artisan spirits mind you, but Charlie can recommend a good wine or craft beer too.
We are sort of beer geeks in my house. We like to try new craft beers. And there is always a fun option to bring home from Marion Street Cheese Market. At this point, Charlie knows we are beer geeks and has something ready to share when I walk in.
I'm so thankful for people like Charlie who act as interpreters in an ever growing marketplace: beer is the new wine, distilleries are the new craft breweries. It's enough to make my head spin. And as a casual, not frequent consumer I need someone to help me sort it all out.
As for the new spirits, I have found that MSCM offers a great price range. Because of the locally distilled group, I can give a unique gift of Chicago to out of town guests. Few Spirits in Evanston, brews in small batches and is of course available at Marion Street Cheese Market. North Shore distillery, is made on the North Shore of Chicago.
I took some photos. But of course, for details on these new offerings just ask Charlie. He's got all the answers.
