Don't miss this weekend's Annual West Suburban PADS Halloween Bash, October 26 , 7:30-11:30 at the 19th Century Club in Oak Park. It promises to be a fun, fabulous dancing good time.
I have favorites. I have favorite businesses.
Usually those businesses that I feel committed to and love to go to, usually those folks have a couple of things that they do perfectly.
I love a business with owner presence. When I go into The Book Table I see Jason or Rachel - inevitably. I run into Karen at Careful Peach. Team Blonde has Heidi or Pierce right at the counter. I run into Connie at Brown Cow. I see Maria at Green Home Experts. I run into Danah more often than not at Bramble. I could keep going. (Frankly - we should all brag about the owners we know and love - there is a long comment section - go ahead and try it.)
I love businesses that are crisp and clean and keep their inventory fresh.
I love businesses that use a little bit of creativity to round out their shelves
And I love businesses that participate in our community!
Last year, my husband and I, my Aunt, my friends, and loads of business owners got out and partied at the First Annual West Suburban PADS Halloween Bash. It was a great time. I accidentally dressed just like two of my favorite business owners from Team Blonde. See the picture of us attached. I felt like I was hob knobbing with business owning celebrities.
One thing for sure, the music last year was fantastic. And it promises to be fabulous again this year with music brought to us by Spoken Word. A real palm reader will be making an appearance. And it sounds like we may also get to see a very convincing Beetle Juice and some welcomers from The Rocky Horror picture show. And well, the screening of The Rocky Horror Picture show is a must see.
Frankly, the biggest draw for me is that this is a true community event. Chances are you'll run into plenty of people you know from area businesses, me and quite a few others. If you are new to Oak Park it's a great chance to have fun and boogie down with people who really make things happen around here. You can still get tickets on line. There are just a few days left to register.
Join me, for a great Halloween Bash and support West Suburban PADS in the process.
