A few months ago I had the distinct pleasure of attending a trunk show for Marigold Mary, in the home of designer Danielle Stotts, in south Oak Park. With a background in PR, Danielle, mother of 2, was searching for creative outlet when she took jewelry making classes from a nearby art studio.
Motivated by her urban environment, appreciation for geometry and vintage heirlooms, she established the Marigold Mary line; inspired by her grandmother to study metal - smithing. By combining modern and vintage materials, her work is a distinct convergence of past and present - producing truly unique pieces inspiring the wearer to express their individuality.
Perfect for layering, the pieces are minimal yet memorable - made from recycled brass, 14k gold filled and sterling silver metals paired with semi-precious gemstones, vintage glass and natural crystals.
Danielle is one busy lady these days; just recovered from the summer fest & art faire scene, she is feverishy working on a small custom collection of jewelry in collaboration with Heather Anderson, specifically for the Muse clientele.
I reach for her necklaces over and over, and love to combine them with my existing pieces — you should too! Crave more news and advice? follow me on Twitter and Facebook, & subscribe to my Styling Newsletter: you can sign up by visiting my website: http://suzesolaristyle.com/
