Fall ended last Thursday, and a very nice extension of the season it was. Now that Winter is officially here, the internal style battle has begun: what the heck do we wear on our feet? We want cute shoe & boot options that will keep us warm and yet still look stylish.
A Madison Street staple for 5 years, this shop has made a name for itself with its Deedee & Edee label. “We combine high-quality unusual, modern fabrics with classic vintage patterns for women with real figures and impeccable taste” according to Deb Dworman, proprietor and designer of the line.
Deb’s interest in fashion design lead her to develop her signature Japanese Kimono scarves, called Rooster tails - delicate and beautifully crafted, these can be used as table runners, or suspended wall art. Her success naturally lead her to open the retail boutique.
Recently the shop acquired the space next door, and expanded their accessories offerings to include hip and fun shoes & boots. Here is a run down on how to de-frump your winter shoe & boot wardrobe:
Keep your tootsies warm and cozy in these chic patent wedge booties from Fly London $180. Winter boots that can handle Chicago: charcoal suede & leather lace up middie boots - these suckers are serious, no sliding around in these lug soles, and yummy shearling interior, Dromedaris $210.
You will be oh - so adorable in these cheetah print slipper flats from John Josef, $100. And I am drooling a bit over the purple suede & leather lace up wedge oxfords, so on trend right now, $222 from ReMix. Walk tall and in comfort: brown crinkle leather oxford booties, and don’t forget to check out the lovely handbags like the Big Buddah woven tote, on sale for $44.
Now is the time to stock up with the shop’s semi annual sale of shoes and boots at 20 - 50% off. Shop now and tune in again this spring when I talk to Deb about her apparel line, and feature her deedee & edee tunics and tops!
