For the third year in a row, all three River Forest Public School District 90 schools have been awarded a 2010 Academic Excellence Award from the Illinois Board of Education, an honor shared by only 10 percent of public schools across the state.

A District 97 teacher has been nominated for the coveted Golden Apple Award, honoring outstanding teachers from the Chicago area. Jen Galant, a sixth-grade teacher at Julian Middle School, 416 S. Ridgeland, has been nominated for the award.
