Take one last opportunity to sleep under the stars this weekend—and learn how to reduce unnecessary waste—with the Zero Waste Campout at Priory Park.

The River Forest Park District and the Parks Foundation are sponsoring the campout, which will begin Friday at 6:30 p.m. and last until Saturday at 7:30 a.m. Participants in the free event will hear campfire stories from the River Forest Public Library and live music, get a visit from the Cook County Forest Preserve's nocturnal animals, and eat a late-night snack and breakfast the next morning from Whole Foods.

Attendees will learn some tips about leaving a clean campsite and living green. Pre-registration is required, and can be done at The Depot, 401 Thatcher Avenue, through Sept. 27 at 4:30 p.m.
