Oak Park native Cecily Strong made her debut appearance as a member of the cast of Saturday Night Live. She appeared on the "Weekend Update" segment as Get-Out-The-Vote Volunteer Mimi Morales. Her character had a difficult time being interviewed by Weekend Update host Seth Meyers because she was constantly being interrupted by her overly touchy Dominican boyfriend.

She also appeared in a new cast member video with Kenan Thompson where the pair struggled to come up with a comedy bit on short notice.

Cecily was an exceptional breath of fresh air for a troop that was getting a bit stale. Great smile that gave me a chuckle before the bit started. Was amazed with her poise on the first appearance on SNL.

She did go to OPRF. I believe class of 2002, but I think she might have graduated early.

I thought she was great! From what I read, she is adept at accents. Does anyone know whether she went to OPRF and if so, when? I haven't been able to find that out.
