Oak Park and River Forest property owners who wish to file tax appeals will be able to get more information on how to do so at upcoming meetings.
Residents of Oak Parker and River Forest can appeal their 2012 assessed property values with the Cook County Board of Review through Sept. 4. A meeting will be held Aug. 29 where board representatives will explain the appeal process and help Oak Park residents file appeals, according to a statement Friday from Oak Park Township Assessor Ali ElSaffar. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at the Oak Park Township Senior Services building at130 S. Oak Park Ave.
Residents can also seek help from ElSaffar's office by calling 708-383-8005 to schedule an appointment.
In River Forest, Township Assessor Pamela Kende will host a community outreach meeting with board representatives Aug. 28 at 7 p.m. in Room 206 of the River Forest Community Center, 8020 Madison Street, according to the River Forest Township website. River Foresters are asked to bring recent property tax bills.
Appointments can also be made by calling Kende's office at 708-366-2787. Kende will accept appeals at her office until noon Aug. 30.
