Here's where the term, "You don't see that every day," really applies. That was the case last week when a Wednesday Journal staff member went over to the 7-Eleven at East Avenue and South Boulevard during a lunch break.

Short-cutting through an alley to East Avenue, what looked like a metal giraffe caught the eye. Sure enough, a giraffe made of metal was sitting in the front yard of a home next to the 7-Eleven strip mall. A metal moose was also spotted along the porch walkway.

Was the sun getting to us? Well, the pictures speak for themselves. When was the last time you saw a metal moose and giraffe in Oak Park?

Thank you, Terry Dean. When those cramps happen, take a moment and read what you wrote. It helps with the cramps.

Dan Haley, it's somewhere over there but not at East and South Blvd. Who was that reporter who didn't know where 7 Eleven is at? We want to know. Welcome back from Kentucky, job well done.

Well Q, I didn't actually write this ditty and it seems my name is on it in error. So where is the 7-Eleven? South and Wesley? South and Scoville. Somewhere over there.

Dan Haley, how long have you lived in Oak Park? There is no 7 Eleven located at East and South Blvd..
