Oak Park Village Hall's award-winning videographer, Joe Kreml, put together a highlights package of this year's A Day in Our Village, looking to shine the spotlight on what's made the outdoor festival last for nearly four decades.

June 5 marked the 38th anniversary of A Day in Our Village, which takes over both Scoville and Rehm parks for a day each year to kick off the summer. Some 150 local organizations set up booths for the fest, everyone from churches to the Wednesday Journal.

Oak Park says this year was a "smashing success," with thousands of residents showing up. However, village hall is in dire need of volunteers to put on the 39th A Day in Our Village next year. Call 708-358-5407 or email community@oak-park.us if you’re interested.
