Online registration has begun for the Oak Park River Forest Youth Football League (the Huskies) through June 30.
The Huskies is a no-cut youth football organization for first through eighth graders. The Huskies field tackle football teams that are age, weight and skill based.
The team competes in The Chicagoland Youth Football League (TCYFL) that includes 33 towns in the greater Chicagoland area. Recent accomplishments for the Huskies include four Super Bowl championships for its Heavyweight team in the past six years, and a second place finish for its Featherweight team. The program was also recognized as a forefront TCYFL member in concussion awareness and prevention.
The registration fee is $365.00, which includes usage of a helmet, shoulder pads, and a practice jersey. Practices officially begin on Monday, July 23, with the regular season kicking off the weekend of Aug. 25.
The Huskies are also looking for volunteers for coaching positions or people who want to serve on one of the committees, such as game day concessions, fund-raising, spirit and banquet committees.
