Well, the popular program that airs on Showtime didn't exactly come to Fenwick High School and film the baseball team as they prepared for the 2012-13 season, but something similar took place.
Cal Laird, a senior southpaw pitcher on the team, produced a documentary-like film of the players training during the offseason. The film mirrors that of Showtime's The Franchise, a reality-documentary television show that followed the San Francisco Giants and the Florida Marlins on and off the field in its first two seasons.
Fenwick head coach Dave Hogan, who has skippered the program at Fenwick for 34 years, sits down for a serious interview in-between shots of players training for the upcoming season and, of course, goofing around.
