After several past auditions that were unsuccessful, a River Forest woman finally got her chance to appear on Jeopardy.
The episode featuring Marion Baumgarten, a 51-year-old human resources evaluator, will air this Friday. Baumgarten had already auditioned for the show four times over the last few years.
"The contestant coordinators were beginning to recognize me," Baumgarten said.
Then last year, she took an online test and got a call afterwards that she had been selected to audition again. Baumgarten flew to Kansas City for the audition and "didn't think too much of it" until they called again and asked her to come to California.
Baumgarten said she's always been a fan of the show and wasn't as nervous as she thought she'd be during the taping in November. She said she and colleagues plan to watch the show at her Downtown Chicago office on Friday, but couldn't give details about the outcome.
"I didn't quit my job," she said.
