A River Forest organization is supporting Best Buddies and the Special Olympics in their effort to end the R-word on Wednesday.

Opportunity Knocks, an organization that advocates for people with developmental disabilities, is taking part in the "Spread the Word to End the Word" campaign. On March 7, the national R-Word organization is encouraging supporters to make a pledge to stop using the word "retard."

To take the pledge, or for more information, visit www.r-word.org.
