The Village of Oak Park is searching for artists to help dress up the crumbling concrete embankments along the CTA Green Line.

Oak Park wants four artists to make their pitch to village hall, and will pay each of them $1,000 to paint the murals, according to a press release. Artists have until 5 p.m. March 8 to submit their proposal to the village. Finalists will then be picked by the village's public arts advisory commission, with the hope that the pieces are up by April 22.

The village first started its "mini mural project" last year, with the commission picking eight pieces to go up near Oak Park Avenue and North Boulevard.

More information on the competition is available at oakparkareaartscouncil.org. The village expects to pick another four murals in the spring.
