A public meeting will be held Tuesday to update residents on the Park District of Oak Park’s plan for a new gymnastics center at 25 Lake Street.

The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the Stevenson Center, 49 Lake St. Attendees will be able to see the preliminary schematic designs presented for the project, which the park district board voted on in January.

A new gymnastics center would relieve overcrowding at the program’s current space at 218 Madison St., the park district headquarters. The program serves about 1,400 students each season with 100 to 200 on a waiting list.
